The state of my "Being" was very bad.

I am of European White/Cherokee Indian (Paternal) and African-American/ Dutch East Indian blood (Maternal)

Couple my racial mixture with being a
disabled Viet-Nam- Era Veteran and you see a social dilemma..

I was the "First-Black Bellman" making history in 1974, at the now gone, Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, California.
It was my pleasure to room the "First Guest" In the then new, Los Angeles Bonaventure Hotel. circa 1976. Now add Being Gay and being fired from the best career move that I had as a young man to the mix and you get my reason for my "State of Being."

Civillywedd.com was created in loving memory of John Andrew Baker of Halifax, Massachussets, 1936 -1992,
My friend and life-mate who inspired me to carry on...

We were joined together in a ceremony in John's home on December 31, 1982 I recall John saying,
" It's a shame that this wedding is not legal",

I said, "I guess I'll have to do something about that someday".

John died of Aids in 1992

John's family took
everything that we owned.

Things are looking up for future generations as many  G.L.B.T's are showing their action and stating their being through Marriage, Civil-Unions,
Civil and Domestic Partnerships as some Laws now allow worldwide. In addition, Businesses are supporting the L.G.B.T. Community through benefits and overall friendliess.

I took it upon myself to contact the C.E.O.'s of the then
"Top Ten Fortune 500 Compaines" in 2000 requesting their participation with Civillywedd.com.

I am doing my part as I promised my former partner.

Will you join in the effort to help make Equal Marriage Rights the perfect syzygy of humankind?
