| NGC7000 or North America Nebula The image shows the east coast of the North Amercai Nebula, so much for framing. The picture was taken from the front yard of my house, in moderate light pollution, and in those conditions the nebual is not visible through an 80 mm scope. I used a computer map to center it but i now know i got teh wrong star as reference. The picture is my first attept at serious digital imaging, after a couple of tests with M31 and M45. Picture information: Telescope: Orion Short Tube 80mm f/5 mounted on Celestar Deluxe Telescope Guiding: ST-4 connected to Celestar Deluxe via Celestron focal reducer to reduce focal ratio to f/6.3 Digital Camera: Canon 300D Rebel at the prime focus with Light Pollution Filter from Orion Comment: this was also the first time i tried the light pollution filter and i can say i am happy with that. The color shift seems negligible, at least to me, and the sky did not need any correction at all in level Picture Information: 4x120 plus 4x180 seconds stacked in IP and digitally stretched. Curves and level modified in PS. |
