This picture of the Moon was my very first attempt to image the sky. I used a 4.5" Newtonian Telescope from Celestron set up in Eyepiece projection using a 25mm Kernell and an Orion adapter.
The biggest problem was to focus. I built a cardboard focuser Kwik style but the results was not perfect. However it may be possible that lack of contract in the picture (maybe overexposed) is causing some poor result in the mage details.
