Zone de Texte: Dr. Lidia BENEA ************************** Doctor of Science in Chemistry ************************** Background ************************************************************* Lidia Benea received a BE and MSc from University Politechnica of Bucarest, Romania in 1978 following an PhD from the University "Dunarea de Jos" of Galati in 1996. She was based in ICPPAM in the Corrosion and Protection for 10 years, from 1980 -1991 as a researcher, and from 1991 -2002 as a lecturer and professor in "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati. Her research has focused on the surface protection of materials to improve corrosion and wear resistance with specific emphasis on composite electrodeposition and tribocorrosion. She is author/co-author of over 70 papers in these areas and has presented the work at over 50 international/national conferences. In addition to her involvement with the professional bodies, she is a member of International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE), The International Society Inc. (USA), CEFRACOR (France) and more recently Expert to European Commision (Engineering Science Panel RDG). She currently leads the Scientific group TRIBOCOR_RO.
