MARC: Sarah...I want to...

SARAH: Oh hi Marc!...How's it going?

MARC: {confused} What?

SARAH: How are things? I haven't seen you in ages! How's Barb?

MARC: Barb who?

SARAH: Barb, your wife.

MARC: I don't know what you're talking about.

SARAH: What do you mean?

MARC: What do I mean? Where're you getting this "Barb" business?

SARAH: Well....I was at your wedding eight years ago.

MARC: I don't think so...

SARAH: Of course I was...I was in that black thing with the red...Are...Are you alright Marc?

MARC: I don't know what you're talking about.

SARAH: You look kind of flustered...why don't you come inside and sit down for a while.

MARC: {pause, hesitating} Okay...

{SARAH unlocks the front door and they both enter the house. Once the front door closes the facade splits to reveal the interior of the house.}

SARAH: Do you want anything to drink?

MARC: Yeah, Just a glass of water.

{Exit SARAH}

SARAH: {offstage} How's Sammy doing?

MARC: Sammy who?

SARAH: {entering with glasses of water} Your son. I heard he broke his arm.

MARC: Why do you keep saying these things?

SARAH: What things?

MARC: These crazy things. I'm not married, I don't have any kids.

SARAH: Marc, What's going on?

MARC: ...I don't know...Look, I just came over to talk to you.

SARAH: About what?

MARC: About what happened yesterday between us.

SARAH: Marc, I haven't seen you for over a month

MARC: But I came over here and asked you...{pause}

SARAH: Asked me what?

MARC: {softly} I asked you to marry me.

SARAH: {reflects, short pause} Marc I...I don't think that happened.

MARC: But it did! I Swear!...{reaching into pocket}...Look, I have the ring to prove it...

SARAH: Marc, you're scaring me...

MARC: Believe me...Look!

SARAH: {frightened} Marc, that's Barb's ring.

MARC: No it's Not! I bought it for you! There is no "Barb."

SARAH: Marc, you've been married to Barb for seven years now.

MARC: I thought you said eight?

SARAH: No, I said nine.

MARC: Stop that.

SARAH: Stop what?

MARC: Stop lying to me!

SARAH: I'm not lying to you.

MARC: Yes you are.

SARAH: I don't know what you're thinking, Marc, but there's nothing between us.

MARC: Sarah...I swear to God!...I've...We've been seeing each other for two years now.

SARAH: I think you should go home Marc.

MARC: No.

SARAH: Please. {pause} Why don't you come to the hospital tomorrow...

MARC: I'm not crazy!

SARAH: I wasn't saying that. Maybe...Maybe you just forgot some things.

MARC: No...I...Sarah...

SARAH: {hugging him gently, she looks him in the eyes} Go home Marc. It's late and we both need to get some sleep.

MARC: {holding hand to mouth, takes a deep breath, removes hand} Okay...Can I see you tomorrow?

SARAH: {pause} Call me. {pause} You can let yourself out, just lock the door behind you please.

MARC: Alright.

{SARAH exits upstairs. Lights dimming. MARC turns to go out the door, rear wall splits to reveal the MASTER. MARC turns and sees him.}

MARC: Who are you?

{Pause}

MASTER: Welcome.
