WAVE 2

2.1 - Autumn Reflection

Outside my window
I see the autumn leaves on the trees
and I feel the sun's rays on my face.
I pull my sweater over my hands
	and lean out the window.
Outside my window
I feel the cool October breeze
	whisper across the fields
and I hear the trees rustle in the distance
and my hair floats along with the wind.
Outside my window
	Children run and jump
in the leaves that lay on the ground
and the setting sun encloses us
	in a rosy-violet-tangerine sky.
		I breathe in
		Put on my shoes
		And step outside.

2.2 - BUS POEM (JAM)

Jam Jam Jam Jam
Jam into the bus like sardines
Jam to the headphones pumping rap at total blast
Jam in and listen to the high school girls saying,
"DAMN! Don't sit by that fat guy!
He smell like old gymshoe."

And the blind woman sits there patiently
with her pale gold labrador
and her bright pink box,
nodding off occasionally
and asking where we are.

2.3 - BUS POEM (thanks!)

(Heavy breathing),br> "What the fuck you think you lookin' at boy?"
POP!

Thanks for socking me in the jaw
Thanks for getting off the bus
Thanks for all you people who sat there and watched

Thanks for nothing
Thanks for nothing
Thanks for nothing
Thanks for nothing

I thought you had a cool hat.
Note to myself:
Sit closer to the front next time.

2.4 - BUS POEM (BRICK)

Quietly waiting to turn down the street

"Hey man, ain't you gonna Stop!"

As he runs
His anger builds
Another rider yells
"Hey! This ain't
the 51!"

We come to a stop
The door doesn't open
This isn't a regular
Stop
---Crash!

Brick'll open that God Damn door!

2.5 - BUS REFLECTION

After two years of knowing you
Every day
Twice a day
An hour and a half each way
I have seen you
I have slept deep inside you
I have seen the geniuses come and go
And I have seen the Fruitcakes pick their noses
I have seen the blind
And they have heard me
I have seen the deaf
Signing angrily at each other
I have seen the river rolling by
And the flooded city streets
In you
And the two hour commute
To reroute
Because of flooding
You have served me well
And I thank you
