Goth Dress

This is a dress that I made for my friend Niki. She had the idea for the fabric and the general design in mind, but I brought them to fruition. The top of the dress was a cotton shirt that she bought at J.C. Penney's with a high collar, and the sleeves and skirt were made out of a sheer material which we purchased at Hancock Fabrics.

Basically what she told me was this, "Eric, I want a dress with the Stevie Nicks sleeves." The sleeves begin at a very small diameter and open out at the end of the hand to a much larger circle.

The skirt part of the dress posed more problems because of it's sheerness. So, to alleviate the sheer problem I pleated it immensely to cover all the skin. But, when she wore the dress she wore a slip underneath which covered most of the unmentionables. Over all I think this was an effective piece.
