History of Nylon
On October 27,1938 Charles Stine who was the vice President of E.I DuPont de Nemourus Inc. invented Nylon.
Nylon is the first synthetic fiber. Twelve years before Nylon came out. Stine was the director of Duponts Chemical research department. His goal was to work "the object of establishing or discovering new scientific material". Stine thought that research was having a problem with raw materials.
Stine had four reasons why DuPont should spend more money on new chemical research:
1) Scientific Prestige "advertising value"
2) Scientific reasearch to improve moral and recruting
3) The work could be used to barter for information in other institutions
4) Rise on practical applications
In April 1927, Fundamental Research recieved $25,000 a month and $115,000 to build a new laboratory. He looked for 25 scientists: "Men of proven ability and recognized standing in their respective field"
