| Because my father was a pastor throughout my whole childhood, I learned to cherish two great things. The first would be working with children and teens. I was very involved in helping with VBS, Bible quizzing, children�s church, and Sunday school, which is probably what led me to be a high school English teacher. My second greatest love is music, and singing in particular. I sing with my sister and my dad, occasionally do special music in church, and sing with the church choir every chance I get. This love of music carried over into college where I traveled for two summers with a music ministry team going to camps and churches all over the U.S. and Canada. I also like to play the guitar, although I am not as good as I would like to be at that. In fact, both of us play the piano and guitar (to some degree) and it is important to us that the child we raise have ample exposure to music in some fashion � learning an instrument, singing, or some other form of musical expression. I also like spending time with family. We frequently spend time with my family, since they live very close by, either watching the Cubs play baseball, playing board games, or swimming in my parents� pool. Even though Anthony really likes the Tigers, he is slowly becoming a Cubs fan. His parents live further away and we get together with his family about once a month. |
