A genuine JW will direct you to what the Bible says....read 2 Tim 3:1-5 and beyond. It talks about the last days ('end times', whatever) when men would be lovers of themselves, self assuming, haughty blasphemers....all these traits are shown by all people to a greater or lesser degree, and scientists are no exception.
In their attempts, no doubt with the best of intentions, to 'play God', by the research they are doing in these 'last days', they are however showing the
truth of this prophecy like it has never been shown before in all history.
History which has shown, time and again, that when one disease is cured, another steps in (my perception of what has happened with smallpox vs.
HIV/AIDS, for
example).
So don't start thinking there's a brave new world out there because of what scientists may achieve. Science has infinite potential for bringing benefit or detriment to mankind - the problem is, politicians, under the control,
as the Bible puts it, of 'Satan', and being without the moral and ethical qualities needed to use science for the benefit of mankind, the converse will always be true. Until Satan is removed from planet Earth, modern science is a danger
to be watched very carefully. The Great Tribulation lies just ahead of us, and science will no doubt play a key role in its cause and progress.
