In response, I tried to share my understanding of a relevant scripture passage. I tried to follow the Apostle Paul's adminition to "not go beyond the things that are written."
I further believe that I made honest use of the scripture that I referenced. I do not believe I lifted it out of context, nor stretched it in any way to make a point that it really doesn't make. That was the purpose of my first observation, about the literal meaning of "say a greeting."
I'm sure my response wasn't perfect, neither am I. However, I responded the best way I know how. I tried to be honest, without being inflammatory, accusatory or judgmental.
I'd like to leave it that way.
