Thank you, brother, for helping make the burden of running this forum more manageable by helping the manage the human factor. Without taking care of and properly maintaining the human element, this outpost is just a bucket of Perl bolts adrift in cyberspace.

I'm researching email filters for Unix (ideally for Pine which is installed for H2O), which will allow a "double-blind" emailing system. Presently the admin on duty is forwarding or should forward emails to moderators (i.e., "[email protected]") to the real email account. Filters in MS Outlook, Netscape Mail and other Windows email programs (like Eudora) allow automatic forwarding of mail fitting certain "criteria" (like to a certain email address, or containing certain key words, or from certain parties, etc.) to a folder or another email address. I'm researching filters for Unix that are easy for server users to install (don't require super user or root access which H2O doesn't have on our ISP).

Once installed, you'll be able to contact any moderator directly without even knowing their email address (by typing "[email protected]"). There are over 50 and many for one reason or another don't want to create separate email accounts. They'd prefer a double-blind system.

Your post is encouraging in that it appears we're going in the right direction. I encourage all to reply within the scope of your comments to this topic.

Rick
