Yup. I'll bet most congregations have guys/gals like that. We sure did when I was a dub. We had one young guy who would argue about everything. No matter what you said, he would take the opposite position, and then ramble on forever about his position.

When we tried to answer him back, he would say, "You don't get my point."

Our standard reply? "You didn't MAKE a point." That usually shut him up.

He was almost never called upon at meetings. He did the same thing in front of the congregation when he was called upon, too.

I'd be willing to bet that this kind of person is by no means unique to DubLand(tm).
