I listen to a religious fundie radio call-in program mainly for comic relief. The show is moderated by an attorney who fields questions and provides responses/assistance to other "Christians" that believe their constitutional rights have been infringed upon.
Usually, they're upset about not being able to say the words "Christmas" or "Easter" at work, not being able to listen to their favorite "Christian" radio broadcast at work, their not wanting to go through "Diversity Training", the "threat" of homosexuals, the problems of abortion. It's always such a blast to hear self-righteous people get uptight about things.
On the issue of freedom of speech, I generally side with them, however, as long as in work and school settings it isn't in the form proselytizing.
Well today JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES made the broadcast. A caller from Colorado Springs, Colorado was complaining that a Senior Citizens center there had a JW (I believe it is a woman) in a position of authority. The JW FORBADE any forms of religion (prayer, songs, meetings, etc.) to be present there. Of course, there are residents there that are not JWs.
Isn't it strange. This JW would probably cry out "fowl" if her religious rights were trampled on. However, she thinks nothing of shoving her personal bias against other religions down the other peoples throats.
The moderator who also is in charge of a large national legal force, is
coaching the caller on how to handle the situation. Knowing him, he'll also institute legal action unless she mends her ways.
