Actually it is still in the news. In the Toronto Star last Thursday and again today. There was an update in the Globe & Mail today.
Might I ask how you are aware of his progress if you did not read it in the media?
I agree that the courts were too quick to impose their medical preferences on a family. But let's not jump off to extreme positions ... quite yet.
ALso the article stated that he is not in as much pain. There is no mention of the progress of the cancer. Unfortunately, he could still die tomorrow from the cancer. It simply isn't known.
