Truthfully, on these posts, it is hard to identify which are genuine and which sarcastic. If my answer was scathing, it was not intended to be -- in spirit :-)
The thought of materialistic advantage in the new world is truly amusing to me -- I would laugh if anyone in the congregation ever shared that thought with me personally. The idea of someone with "new money" -- with all its gaudiness, comes to mind.
I once saw a program on 60 minutes, which I thought grossly portrayed JWs as grabbers, plotting which houses to possess after Armageddon. How utterly ridiculous -- I've never heard anyone say anything like that. I'm surprised that you may have, and sorry.
Technology is not anti-god as a whole, nor is science -- to disregard either or both, would be a mistake. We simply don't know. What is known: the power of a global human population in unity, cannot be underestimated.
