I read the post, and I know what he was saying. The point is, he called someone who opposes the WT rabid, and a hypocrite. In what context is this acceptable? This is name calling, it is in violation of his own FPP, and your weak attempts to redirect the attention to specifically who was being addressed is a diversion. I see you did not answer the question: Was Rick wrong in his conclusion?
And, no, Rick did not use the expression, "rabid opposers of the Watchtower", which you nicely put into quotation marks. He used these two expressions, "one rabid opposer" and "Is that rabid, or is that rabid?"
What Rick called "one rabid opposer" was a man that held utter contempt for honesty, regardless of what he opposed. Again, supposedly the man said, "even if the WTS is proven right 100%, and I had to, I would be willing to convince people the WTS was false just to get people away from them!" I�m sorry, but that is rabid (meaning: fanatical, obsessed, extreme) and it�s not name-calling to say so. Whoever would make a statement like that is a lunatic.
Answer me this: If I said, even if 5GJW was proven 100% right I would still be willing to try my level best to convince people otherwise", would you consider my position extreme, fanatical or obsessive, that is, rabid?
Finally, as to whether Rick meant those who oppose the WT for doctrinal reasons, Rick said:
"I'm not talking about those of you who oppose the Watchtower because you genuinely believe parts of its teachings are wrong, but who are truthful enough to acknowledge the parts that are right."
Is that not clear enough to deflate your accusation against Rick? You are bordering on dishonesty here.
Also, your attempt to maneuver me into a position I have not taken will not work. I respect Rick, but I do not think that he is perfect. This does not mean that I do not appreciate the work he has done here, but I do not think that he is above criticism. I no longer live in a world where I am not allowed to question orders or instructions from above.
I am not attempting to maneuver anything or anybody, facts speak loud and clear. What I am hoping you will do is to stop your false accusations against Rick on this thread, your assertion that Rick somehow evoked Covert�s wrath is just not true. Frankly, at this point I�m beginning to wonder if I�m replying to Covert rather than 5GJW, but, of course, I have no way of knowing that.
If you continue in the same vein, I suggest that moderators delete each and every one of your post on this thread.
