I remember that when JWs present their mags or books to a householder and they are accepted, the JW then requests a small donation to cover the cost or support the "Worldwide Preaching Work".
Lately I wonder if this request is accurate. Since some JWs equate field service with the preaching work, this request would not be accurate since field service expenses are paid for by the individual publishers and pioneers. The donation would actually cover the cost of writing, printing, operational costs and living expenses of those in the writing/printing area.
If the preaching work covers all activities considered, then it still would not seem very Christian that one group is reimbursed for their efforts and another is not.
And why if a publisher pays for the literature when he receives it, does he then have to turn over what donations he receives out in the field? Can't he at least be reimbursed for his expenses?
