WW, These folks believe the entire universe was
created in a
period of 144 literal hours
just 6000 to 10000 years ago.
As I've said, the traditional christian reverence for inspired scripture holds that we look
for the literal sense first, and take scripture literally UNLESS there is
compelling reason to judge the literal assumption to be unwarranted.
Scripture is not written in the form of a catechism, either.
The YECs are trying to prove a much bigger agenda than you trying to defend the Flood, WW.
They're
trying to prove a literal 144 hour creation of ALL THAT EXISTS, and THAT within the past 10,000 years.
YOU, yourself, can disprove that.
Walk outside tonight. Look up at the stars.
Any given one of them is x-number of millions
of
LIGHT YEARS away. The light that you are seeing TONIGHT actually SHONE x-number of millions of light-years AGO.
What I'm trying to get you to see is tbat
these folks DO misquote the articles about
the mammoths, etc. Their
purpose is not to
prove, ultimately, the existence of mammoths, etc.
Their purpose is trying to prove that THERE WAS NO DEATH OF ANIMALS, etc. PRIOR TO ADAM'S FALL.
WHY? Because they are also trying to prove that God made everything within a literal 144 hour period no longer than 10,000 years ago.
THAT ***NECESSITATES*** them claiming that all the dinosaur fossils, mammoth remains, the entire
geologic column, etc., were laid down in the
SAME event:
the Noachian Flood, about 4,000 or so years ago.
They MUST do this in order to hold up their
10,000 Year Old Universe claim.
Which CLAIM, I remind you, comes STRAIGHT FROM
