The Moody Bible Institute challenged the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society to a debate. The Watchtower Society then sent a set of 30 questions to the Moody Institute, and told them if they could answer the questions, they would be glad to have a debate. The Moody Institute sent back and replied that they could not answer the questions. The following are the 30 questions:
1. Was Adam in heaven or on
the earth?
2. Was Adam created mortal or immortal?
3. If Adam did not sin, could he have died?
4. If he did live forever, would you have called that immortality?
5. Is there a difference between eternal life and
immortality?
6. Could a man live eternally and not be immortal?
7. On account of sin he did die, and does that prove he was mortal?
8. If a man could not get into heaven without dying, does that not prove that sin and death are a
blessing to the human race?
9. Did Adam lose an earthly or heavenly home?
10. If Jesus came to restore what was lost by Adam's fall, what will be restored?
11. Was Adam a single individual or two in one?
12. If composed of two
parts, soul and body, what or which was Adam?
13. What part was responsible and could feel the act?
14. What part was it that sinned, soul or body?
15. If soul, what did the body suffer?
16. If body, why is it that the soul
must be saved?
17. In Genesis 2:17 what part of Adam did God talk to?
18. What does the "Thou" refer to in Genesis 2:17?
19. If you say soul then what does the "Thou" refer to in Genesis 3:19?
20. How many different penalties
did Adam have pronounced on him?
21. Was one for the body, and a different one for the soul?
22. The explain Ezekiel 18:4 and Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10.
23. Is the penalty mentioned in Genesis 2:17 different from Genesis 3:19?
24.
If only one penalty, what was it?
25. Does the Bible say it was death or burning in endless life in hell?
26. Suppose after the Adamic sin, no saviour came, where could the human spend eternity?
27. Did Jesus really die on the
tree?
28. If Jesus had an immortal soul he did not die, and that soul was Jesus, why not say we were misinformed about his dying for sinners, and why not say that just the house he lived in died to save the house men live in? And that
the real Jesus did not die and the real man was not saved?
29. When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, where did he come from?
30. If in heaven for four days, why didn't he tell anyone?
HOW ABOUT YOU: CAN YOU ANSWER ANY OF THESE QUESTIONS?
Anyone have any information on this story? Has anyone heard this before?
