"You've just shown that world renounced scholars believe that it is perfectly acceptable for the Divine Name to appear in translations of the Greek scriptures (if they had the funds)."
Wrong, Rick. First of all, Mr. Palmer specifically stated that "the NIV did not use the name Jehovah in the Old Testament." I saw no allusions whatsoever to either the New Testament or the Septuagint. Second, they omitted the "Divine Name" for purposes of sales and profits. Not lack of funds! They realized that if they published a Bible with a transliterated form of YHWH, it may create a touchy situation which would prevent people from purchasing it. The reason why their 2 million dollar investment would have went down the drain is because poor sales of the NIV wouldn't do a good job of covering it!
Come on, Rick. You know better than to use such shoddy reasoning and make someone say something which they actually aren't!
