Hi fmartin,
I'm sorry that I assumed your english was first language. I'll go a bit slower and give you a view of the thoughts behind the words:
I said:
"the right answer is:
because Paul was only ever talking to annointed ones
of course."
The answer is "right" or correct, because it is true, but it is also "right" in the sense of what the Society says is "right" - they are also saying (in the writing written between the lines) that Paul's words don't apply to the other sheep. Of course Paul never contemplated two classes or two hopes, so in that respect they are WRONG.
I said:
"don't you get it ;-)"
as a bit of joking about, with a double-meaning
(i) the Society makes such a point
of the 2 hopes and the annointed being the only partakers, and
(ii) from the wink, indicating that you and I could share what we know the truth is, whilst they continue in their ignorance :-)
I also said:
"So was John in 1 John
2:2, in fact so were all the apostles."
This was another quote they used to "prove" a distinction between two classes at the congregation I attended. It does not prove anything of the sort.
"Given there is evidence that the slave was
not teaching any more truthfully than Christendom in 1914-1919, and that what they were teaching was laughable, then perhaps the slave was not chosen in 1919 and perhaps there is no evidence Jesus really has been reigning since 1914, and
perhaps there is no reason to accept that the food
provided by the slave is good for anything, and there is no reason to do what the Governing Body wants you to do in celebrating the Memorial, or anything else for that matter."
I said all this because of the emphasis on following the "commands" of the Governing Body in the talk at the Memorial. The recent posts on H2O by COMF and AF show that the Society was publishing doctrine in the crucial period of 1914-1919 which was nothing like "the Truth" currently believed. Much of it is just ludicrous and beyond belief. Therefore there is no basis for the Society's claim that Jesus returned invisibly and chose the Society as the Faithful and Discreet Slave - because what they were teaching was nothing like "the Truth" today believed.
I then asked:
"Oh, and BTW, what were the Bible texts that the elder at your memorial read out which in any way say who should or shouldn't partake? None
that answer to that description were read out at the Memorial I went to."
I asked this because you implied that there were scriptures read out at your memorial which showed who must participate and who mustn't. Perhaps I misunderstood.
hope this helps,
Love,
Andrew.
