Good observation Jeff!
Of course this doesn't work because they have too many things wrong.
For one thing, the "great tribulation" occurs primarily to natural Israel and was the HOLOCAUST.
Next, the kingdom was not set up until the fall of 1992, 45 years after 1947 to fulfill the 1335 days.
It is at that time that Jesus then started to gather all his anointed ones. These anointed ones, of course, included everyone that was not resurrected.
That is the first
resurrection had to take place first as well before Jesus got set up in kingdom power and after kicking Satan out, was able to pay
and gather his anointed ones.
Here's some critical insight. Check out 1 Cor. 15. It describes how the resurrection would take place. Basically, first one dies, then they are a seed and then Jehovah takes that seeds and finds an appropriate body, one per seed, and it is sown into that "corruptible" or imperfect body. Then after being resurrected in the fleshly body, Christ and the 144,000 serve as kings during the millennium and then do judging during Judgment Day which follows. And then after that, after the last enemy "death" has been done away with, after everyone has been judged, etc. then is when the 144,000 put on "incorruption" and are changed within a twinkling of an eye and become new spirit beings. This happens after the millennium and after Judgment Day, and likely at the beginning of the next Creative Week, the 50th 1,000 years following the previous Creative week of 49,000 years.
Of note, therefore, the entire company of 144,000 bodies/individuals or up to 288,000 lives of the anointed ones will be gathered and present at the time the millennium begins.
So the gathering and sealing, etc. will involve those who have been resurrected in bodies of faithful ones during Christ's presence. Likely, even some of those who died more recently or in the early 1910-1940's would be resurrected in this way, that is, "sown" in the physical body of some other faithful person who is alive at the time the millennium begins or during the sealing process, until all 144,000-288,000 are sealed.
So it works out just as the Bible says, but not as the Witnesses currently believe which don't fit the facts.
Futhermore, they have vascillated back and forth on when the "great tribulation" is so much it's ridiculous. You can actually find that sometimes it was the destruction of Jerusalem in 70CE and at other places it's Armageddon itself!
But how does that work out since the Messiah doesn't come until "after the tribulation of those days...." The tribulation was the HOLOCAUST.
Too bad for the Witnesses. They are in spiritual darkness and you've just shown another degree of how dark that darkness really is.
Thanks for your insightful post! Please post more little details like this!
Cheers,
