:::Of course, all this stuff is used by anit-JW's too.
I believe it's important that I listen carefully to the JW explanation. As long as it's not too lengthy. (that goes for the opposing side too)
::"JW's are robots and
can't think for themselves anyway."
This is such a weird one, because I believe something along those lines, but I wouldn't express it in such unflattering terms. It's clear to me that JWs can be very articulate and can have a detailed knowledge of their beliefs and why they believe. It's more like a mind set. It's like my son got his first driving practise in an automatic car and now he won't/can't use a manual. JWs and other sects seem to think their church has it all sown up - it's their accepting of something in it's entirity, warts and all, that makes them seem unrealistic and lead. There is such a strong bent of it being evil, or disloyal to consider other viewpoints - and anything that exudes that much internal pressure is considered unhealthy to non religious people.

"Don't be so hard on the Apostates, they have been so brutally shunned and are really good people searching for the truth"
I can't find a
thing wrong with the above statement. I do feel I'm searching for understanding. I'm very curious - but I feel I'm light years away from enlightenment. The JW belief system is too judgemental and intolerant for me to embrace. If it
should be true then it doesn't matter as to me it lacks real compassion- I couldn't support it. That you find fault with the above statement is a confirmation of that.
