"There was a pioneer in my hall who viewed the pioneer service as a special club and only interacted with the "commoners" when necessary."
Unfortunately, in our congregation which had an inordinate number of pioneers (about 10) and special pioneers (for a time 4), this was also the case. I didn't realize it at first until I also auxillary pioneered for a month. During that month I got to know them better (now I know why -- it was because I was worthy of their company while I was auxillary pioneering).
Well, after the month was over I tried to continue the association because I felt they were doing a "good work" and would appreciate the effort, but they turned off like a light switch. That was when I noticed how they segregated themselves from the "commoners".
Had I not auxillary pioneered I never would have noticed they were just elitist snobs. And, I suppose, most of the rest of the congregation didn't get that
chance.
