I fail to see, in your quotations,
wherein they have been "Brutally Honest" at all.

How is it with "remarkable accuracy" the PRE-1914
predictions about 1914 marking the end of the Gentile Times?
They leave out the little tidbit that the END OF THE GENTILE TIMES IN 1914 would be marked by ARMAGEDDON ITSELF and the kingdom fully set up ON EARTH that year.

The 1918/19 "heavenly glorification" of the
(heretofore DEAD) members of the Church
was, for DECADES PAST, said to have taken place in 1878. The 1918/19 glorification Teaching
came about LATER, from Rutherford.

Also, M-14, it is not quite correct to say
with regard to the "BIBLE STUDENTS" that
they "THOUGHT" certain things were going to occur in 1914, which then did not occur.
Yes, they THOUGHT this, but because they were TAUGHT to think this.

The BLASTING of the ANGELIC TRUMPETS at the SEVEN Society conventions in the 20's, included the DIVINE BLAST (message) that the Parousia had occured in 1874 (this was still the teaching, and God was "blasting it" through his trumpets at those conventions.

I'm sure you sincerely feel that these halfway
admissions in these things you've quoted somehow absolves the writers of dishonesty.
I'm not sure of that at all.

They made a lot more direct predictions which
we are not told about. They predicted that all of the Christian Churches would be obliterated from the face of the earth before 1920.

They taught that there would be, no ifs ands or buts, WORLDWIDE, ALL-EMBRACING ANARCHY IN THE FALL OF 1920.

They taught that the Patriarchs were going to be resurrected in 1925. Then, shortly after 1925.

The FROM PARADISE LOST TO PARADISE REGAINED book claimed that they had, PRIOR to 1914, been preaching that Christ would fully set up the Kingdom IN HEAVEN in 1914. That's not what Russel said at all. He said that the Bride Class was being raised to spirit life since 1878.

This group has, in it's short history, made more rash predictions than any group I've ever heard of, and all of them have failed.

And that is NOT TOLD to prospective converts,
the exact opposite picture is instead given,
and that is utterly wrong to play with people's heads like that.
