Dr. Anstey is associated with a
chronology that dismisses as non-reliable
the current secular chronology that is
dating the Neo-Babylonian and Persian Periods.
Instead, using the Bible's references to the
beginning of the
"70 weeks" prophecy as being
fulfilled by Cyrus, he concluded that the
1st year of Cyrus must have occurred around
455-6 BCE. Therefore, since it is now clear
that the "70 weeks" prophecy did begin when the
Jews first
began to rebuild at Jerusalem in the
1st year of Cyrus, Anstey's chronology is ALIVE
AND WELL simply because the Bible's superior
record of history confirms this dating.
Only now, Anstey gets another confirmation from
secular
records in the form of an astronomical
text which was found to have references to
511BCE for the dating of the 37th year of
Nebuchadnezzar (i.e. VAT4956). Because of this,
Anstey's chronology is confirmed since the
dating
of the 37th year of Nebuchadnezzar II in
511BCE requires the dating of the 1st year of
Cyrus in 455BCE, perfectly in line with Anstey's
previous conclusion.
Therefore, more than ever, Anstey's chronology
which dates the 1st
year of Cyrus in 455BCE and
the 19th year of Nebuchadnezzar II in 529BCE has
been CONFIRMED by astronomical text, both the
VAT4956 and the SK400.
As further proof that the chronology was revised is
the fact that for the
current secular chronology,
Cyrus is born 15 years before his own mother who
was born after the solar eclipse of 585BCE according
to Herodotus. This, of course, is impossible and
suggests the addition of some 40-60 years to
Persian
history after Herodotus finished his work.
So far from it, more now than ever, thanks to the
VAT4956 and the SK400, Anstey's chronolog which
relies upon the Bible's reliable historical record
is ALIVE AND
WELL!
