In one sense, no.

You have entirely missed the point though.

1914 is crucial to the fundamental doctrine of Jehovah's Witnesses(*) - was the slave really chosen or not in 1919? if Jesus did not return in 1914, the slave could not possibly have been selected, and so the emissions from Brooklyn are just global pollution and not global service.

The Society's dishonesty, though, is also just a distraction. The revisionism described in Tom's post below being a further example of the frank and open acknowledgement of their history.

Their dishonesty is a distraction, except that it shows how foolish they have been in making integrity and consistency important tests of any religion.

They made the bed they lie in. It's time to wake up though.
