Nathan Knorr said at a District Assemble in Detroit Michigan in the summer of 1964 that any witness working for �Babylon the Great� would be disfellowshipped if they didn�t find other work within 6 months. Later there was confusion among the attendees as to what Knorr said. A letter was sent to Brooklyn seeking clarification. In the answer they changed their collective mind and said that any one working for �Babylon� who did not find other work within 6 months could not be used as a �servant.�
So, the rules are many and they change, sometimes very rapidly.
