It's garbage such as this that makes it impossible for me to keep quiet....
Research such as published in the non-creationist Michael Denton's
Non-creationist, huh?
"Evolution: A Theory In Crisis" is increasingly proving the impossibility of "macro" evolution.
Hardly! Denton has been answered thoroughly. Just do a Web search on his name to get the real scoop. You may disagree with evolution, but it's incorrect to say it's been proved to be impossible.
Yet still, worldwide there are thousands of legitimate Ph.D. scientists from all disciplines who are creationists, but don't "come out of the closet" for fear of the loss of grants or jobs.
Oh please! Appeal to emotion here. Those big, bad evolutionist are picking on those poor creationists. Does this letter writer have any evidence to back up this claim, or did she just get it right from the pulpit?
Yes, the schism between science and religion should be mended,
Why? A bias is showing here.
but not at the cost of dispensing with the uniqueness that holds the value. According to macro evolution we personally and as a society have only our own rules to follow; morality is relative if considered at all.
Ah, that old argument again. If we were all evolutionists, we would be raging criminals. Only Christianity keeps us in check. Garbage. The evidence actually suggest the exact opposite, from what I've personally seen.
But as science has slowly been coming back to realize, the astounding precision and purpose observed in the cosmos and in ourselves can't be the product of random chance
No, but it could be the product of evolution. If she thinks evolution = random chance, she is tilting at windmills.
and hints at a need for account-ability[sic] to a higher power.
If she wants to be accountable to a higher power, go for it. But this betrays her biased viewpoint.
Stuff like this really annoys me. People who don't understand science love to condemn it.
