Thanks for your wonderful review of this
topic. But I do have one prominent problem
with your assessment. Did you actually read
Luke?

>>Jesus statement found at Luke 21:24:

"And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led captive
into all the nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the
Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled." - ASV.>>

Seems to me, after having described the tribulation of the destruction of Jerusalem in the earlier verses that this is the beginning of the gentile times. That is, we see the natural nation of Israel being led captive and the beginning of the trampling of Jerusalem which would continue by the gentiles until their appointed time came to an end.

So I don't see how you are ENDING the "gentile times" here when this is clearly the beginning, and with natural Israel no less.

Some feel that these specific "gentile times" would thus end when Israel stopped being trampled upon and when they returned to Palestine which occurred in 1947, thus the gentile times ended in 1947. Some address a phase-in of the end of the gentile times based upon Daniel 12 which references the trampling to end at 1290 days and the kingdom to be restored 45 days/years later at 1335 days, thus in 1992 if we date the end of the 1290 days in 1947.

Most of your arguments seem reasonable except for claiming that the 70-CE destruction ended the "gentile times" when Luke indicates this would have been the continuation or beginning of the gentile times, to continue while natural Israel was in exile from Palestine, with one indication that these times had ended or were beginning to end with the return of the Jews to Palestine.

Just an alternative view.

But ultimately, you're correct. 1914 ends up as an incorrect date and understanding for the "end of the gentile times"; certainly natural Israel did not return to Palestine until 1947.
