It is kind of sad to think that people are concerned with being treated special within the congregation. Why should anyone be treated better than another just because of who they are married to or related to?
The congregation I went to was the same way, except it was marrying a MS or an elder that made you special. Of course since most of the congregation was related to at least one of the elders, just marrying into his family could get you speceal treatment. At least that is what people thought.
You are also 100% right about complaining about other churches when the same things are going on at most Kingdom Halls. People in glass houses shouldn't through stones!
Qualities of a man or woman should judged by what is inside, not because of what they are called or who they are related to.
I am glad to see that you stood up for how you felt. Keep it up.
