I have to agree. I lurked here for a time because the ideas discussed were the ones I could not discuss with most of my friends at the hall. There are a few ex-bethelites who I would talk with and all we really did was dance around the edges of it. Here on H2O it was a breath of fresh air. It was open, even a little raucus at times do to the opinions of some that are held here. But that is part of what I liked so much.

While civility is important, and it helps keep some discusions from sinking to such low levels that no one will listen to either party. However what is now occuring seems to me to be a degeneration into something worse. The discusions are centering on the moderators and their actions. Self monitoring is turning into the over monitoring of others. It leaves a bad taste in ones mouth and serves as a grand StrawMan to the purpose of this group. Distracting us into a fight against further censorship instead of dealing with the questions or viewpoints we may have regarding Jehovahs Witnesses and the Watchtower.

My own participation here is still limited. I tend to stick to topics that strike my interests and I only branch out into other topics or start a topic when I have opportunity in my limited schedule. Wasting time searching for threads of interest in the current waste land of deletions is not how I wish to spend this particularly valuable resource of mine.

I will stick around for a while longer in the hopes that things will improve, and return to what I believe are more relevant topics. In turn I will attempt to do my part to move things in that direction.

Frustratedly Yours,

Felix A.
