I hold down a full-time job and stay with my granddaughter on weekends while her mom, my daughter (Paradiseplum on this board) works.
In the summertime, my granddaughter and I attend many events in the park downtown -- plays (including such diverse offerings as Shakespearean plays to Schoolhouse Rock Live!, ballet, the now-to-be-annual screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show complete with costume contest and plenty of birdseed (to throw instead of rice in the wedding scene), newspapers, lighters and other campy gear.
I spend a lot of time shopping in thrift stores looking for the ultimate find which I will by for 50 cents and sell for 3 million dollars (Clearly I have not entirely given up fantasy since exiting the Borg).
Since I live in Nevada, I have the opportunity to go to clubs and enjoy live entertainment almost any time. It's fun to just go to a local bar, listen to some music, have a drink or two and talk to tourists from all over the world.
In two years I will be vested in my retirement plan at work. I plan to go back to school and become a librarian. I love being on a college campus and just hanging out with people who are more
interesting than I am.
