I agree in principle with the idea that if there comes a time when an individual's life has become so consumed with physical suffering, and there is no known means to alleviate that suffering, then that individual's life is at an end. In such a case, it is not murder to end that individual's life.

However, I think extreme caution is necessary in formulating any law that legalizes any kind of euthanasia. Obviously, this is the kind of law that could be abused by the unscrupulous.

I do not believe that mental illness should ever be used as justification for euthanasia.
