Thanks for posting your experiences.

I take it you were not carrying your AMD at the time of the accident, or they did not exist then. I find it intriguing that they gave you blood despite your explicit objection. Surely it would leave them open to litigation if you felt that way inclined.

Anyway, I'm intrigued as to how you feel about blood now. Would you choose to have a transfusion to save your life today?

PS - in Australia blood testing has been more comprehensive and in place for many years now, and it is the responsibility of the blood service, not the hospital.
