Justin's use of UNbegotten
refers here to the FATHER.
The Son/Word, as he explains in other places,
is BEGOTTEN of the Father, the father being the begettor.
But he likens the Son's generation from the Father to a flame
being kindled from another flame
(thus both are the same essence: both are FULLY FIRE), but says that in the case of the Word/Son's begetting by the father, that this is done WITHOUT ABSCISSION.
UNbegotten refers to the FATHER, not to the word, in Justin's writings.
