The situation you describe with Kirsten and the "mountian of evidence" against M14 reminds me of a stand-up I saw Dana Carvey do on the O.J. trial.
He does a little bit of each major player of the trial and he comes to Johnny Cochran, "Here's a mountain of evidence against O.J. and Johnny gets up, walks around and says 'Why we even havin' a trial?'" (Dana did a perfect imitation too) It was hilarious and it reminds me of this M14 fiasco.
