I've only scanned the threads, and probably this has been thoroughly covered its to basic (if so I apologize), BUT:

Isn't it a well known fact that in Hebrew there is no equivalent for the hard J-sound of English and other languages? I mean, among Hebrew savvy people, isn't it elementary that the Hebrew J is pronounced like English Y, and Hebrew V is pronounced W and conversely W is V (as is B in middle and end-of-word)? If JHVH is the most literal equivalent of the Tetragrammaton characters, it would represent the sound in Hebrew that would be pronounced Yahweh in English, just as HallaluJAH is pronounced AllaluYAH. The English spelling of Yahweh is merely a transliteration effort to convey something close to the original pronounciation.

Again, sorry if that has already been hashed out.

Ros
