There are hidden things. And it does take paying close attention. And unfortunately, some understandings cannot be observed unless you know the precise fulfillment. Then you can recognize it.
So the Bible and it's message can be a whole lot more for those on the "inside" than those who are weak in faith or don't take the Bible specifically or seriously. They lose out. And people who twist the scriptures lose out as well.
And you are also correct, that the Bible, especially during the last days, does not seek out those who would understand the secrets. Instead, "the kingdom of the heavens is like a man who found a rare pearl..." It is for those who are already looking, tuned-in and wide awake. They are the ones who get in. They are the wise virgins who are focussed on scripture and not Watchtower.
As Jesus said, "the kingdom would not come with great observableness....it's in your midst." Which means it would be right in front of your face and you still couldn't see it.
It's ironic. All those Biblical bad habits, all that clever twisting of the scriptures of those who think they are so clever, ends up merely making their darkness even darker.
But we are near the end of everything. So for those with great faith....their expectations are soon to be realized, in fact, many expectations have indeed already been realized. It's the final countdown....
