Janey has sown to the wind, and I expect the whirlwind soon. There really is a difference between an article in a refereed journal, and a paper by a rogue quack(or body of quacks), whether she is aware of it or not. One difference is that it takes more time to document real facts, whereas you can make up bogus facts quite quickly. Janey has thrown a large gauntlet at Jan's feet, I expect that he is preparing his rebuttal from multiple sources.
A question for you, Alex. What if, in the end, Jan is proven correct? Are you capable of admitting a mistake, and facing the truth?
