Hiya Janey, I thought I'd give you a little critique of your response to Jan. :o)
"Jan has reached a new level of stupidity it seems."
That doesn't really do wonders for your credibility, does it? Calling people stupid doesn't strengthen your "argument" in the least.
"But sanctify the Christ as Lord in your hearts, always ready to make a defense before everyone that demands of YOU a reason for the hope in YOU, but doing so together with a mild temper and deep respect." -- 1Pe 3:15 (Emphasis Mine)
Then you go on to say this:
"But we will see if he can put his money where his mouth is."
Getting a little cocky, aren't we? ;o)
"If we are living by spirit, let us go on walking orderly also by spirit. Let us not become egotistical, strirring up competition with one another..." -- Ga 5:25, 26 (Emphasis Mine)
"Pride is before a crash, and a haughty spirit before stumbling." -- Pr 16:18
Then you go on to say:
"But since J.H. has such a hard
time understanding these simple points..." "We all know that "real scholars" to J.H. are only those that agree with him. But J.H. does not give any data from this articles at all. I doubt he even read them."
Are you familiar with the Scriptures, Janey?
"Presumptuous, self-assuming braggart is the name of the one who is acting in a fury of presumptuousness." -- Pr 21:24
Perhaps you forgot about what kind of "witness" you're giving by this sort of behaviour...
"However, there also came to be false prophets among the people, as there will also be false teachers among you. These very ones will quietly bring in destructive sects and will disown even the owner that bought them, bringing speedy destruction upon themselves. Furthermore, many will follow their acts of loose conduct, and on account of these the way of the truth will be spoken of abusively." -- 2Pe 2:2 (Emphasis Mine)
And perhaps you forgot admonitions like these:
"Maintain YOUR conduct fine among the nations, that, in the thing in which they are speaking against YOU as evildoers, they may as a result of YOUR fine works of which they are eyewitnesses glorify God in the day for [his] inspection." -- 1Pe 2:12
"In no way are we giving any cause for stumbling, that our ministry might not be found fault with..." -- 2Co 6:3
I could go on, and on, and on, but what good would that do?
Take care, Janey. I hope you learned something from this...
