Anybody here ever get the creeps from some of the religious paraphernalia around? Sometimes I wonder if it's designed that way. Before my kingdom hall was remodeled, there was a big painted mural of a mountain scene behind the podium on the wall. Now this is going to sound strange, but I swear that during the meeting that mural looked like it was dripping. I used to think it was just me, but a couple other people talked about it too. After the meeting you could go up and see it was perfectly dry and it didn't even have a finishing coat to make it look glossy (it actually looked kind of ashy). I know it was some sort of a trick with the light, but it was a powerful trick.
The all time scariest one was a little church on one of the streets near my house. When I was a little kid, we used to drive by that church at night and my sis and I used to have our hair stand on end because there was a little demonic looking puppet hanging in the window, with a grotesque smile on its face, just staring off into the night. Don't ask me why a church would have a puppet hanging in the window, I don't have the foggiest. It still stands today.
None of this bothers me now that I'm leaving the org, but I still step on the gas a little harder when I drive by that church...
