It's not easy to keep that open and merciful attitude when you're looking at the switchblade of some foulmouthed violent punk, but nonetheless the truth underlying your observations remains just that: truth.
We can judge their "deeds," and protect society FROM the dangers they pose, but we can't judge THEM unless we can see everything about them, past or present, in order to make a proper and accurate
evaluation.
That is just not possible for us finite beings.
