"...One of my strongest beliefs, is that everyone who becomes a father or mother should be required by law to take parenting classes from skilled professional parenting experts..."

Hey Jimmy, I read in the paper the other day, that someone in government down east in Newfoundland, said this very thing. He said that it's simply costing society far too much to support children who are born and grow up in homes where there is either no money, the mother is an un-wed teen who expects society to pay for her and the guy she slept with to live for the next 20 years. In many of these homes, the place is a dump with little nourishing food, but lots of empty beer cans lying around! The child is not taught any sort of morals or guidance because their parents haven't a clue how to be productive citizens themselves. Quite often the child is neglected, physically or emotionally abused and will probably be in trouble with the law by the age of 14.

This isn't the case with everyone of course, but unfortunately, it happens more times than not.

What needs to happen, is a return to morals. Instead of everybody having "rights" and no responsibilities whatsoever, the society we live in is a mess. People need to take a test for a drivers license, a hunting license, various jobs, university entrance, a fishing license, etc. etc. etc., but any moron can become a parent and ruin an innocent child's life.

Maybe one day; and not too far away, we'll see testing of this sort as mandatory.
