During my brief stint as elder, I had the privilege of conducting the bookstudy while we went through this book. There were so many opportunities for bringing out the contrast between Jesus' example of true Christianity and the pharisaic oppressive organizational rules - or any legalistic mindset for that matter. And yes, it was the hair splitting of what are acceptable and what are unacceptable blood components that first got me to really question the legitimacy of the blood doctrine.
