Basic logic?
You mean like per current 587BCE chronology Cyrus has to be born 15 years before his own mother? That kind of logic?
Let's face it, A.F. One of your best defences is to simply run from true confrontation.
My point here was....a joke, of course. And explain that many arguments by so-called scientists which would seem to contradict the scriptures do not.
Furthermore, God, a SUPER-natural being, causes events that can't be explained by science or that defy what we naturally see, therefore, science is the inappropriate tool to probe certain things.
I believe there is potentially lots of questions that will be unanswered on both sides of the fence, but, you have to at least ask the appropriate question.
I don't think understanding PHYSICS is the reall issue. The critical issue is understanding Jehovah's power. If God thought there was too much water he could simply get rid of it in any number of ways, even breaking it down at the atomic level if he wanted.
Furthermore, according to you and current physics theory, the water canopy was scientifically "impossible" apparently. But that's an incoherent statement because no one knows how large the canopy was, how thick, it it rotated, what the temperature was, it's true composition, etc.
It could have been utilizing some dynamic law of physics God put into place just for this intance.
Maybe there was even some other
planetary influence involved that was removed at the time.
We just don't KNOW enough detail to dismiss whether it happened in a certain way or not.
On the other hand, the Bible says that God created things to produce after its kind, and we can prove that scientifically.
The bible indicates all of us came from one pair of humans; our inter-genetic sexual compatibility is confirmed scientifically.
So whether the creation story is a myth or not, is your choice to accept, but what it describes is SCENTIFICALLY confirmed. That is, the natural state of things described in the Bible are precisely what we see today; species producing after it's kind.
So there is a strong scientific compatibility of the end result, whether or not you agree on how it started out.
And ultimately, yes, we will have arrows and missles fired at our faith in God's word and we will have to summarily dismiss what might seem as credible "science" when it directly contradicts what the Bible says. But so far, most of what has been presented as challenging the Bible's authenticity has not amounted to anything to be overly concerned about.
In the meantime, such totally ignorant concepts such as evolution prvail as "science" which doesn't speak well for the field at all.
So I'm very happy with my faith and the reality I see given by the Bible which "true science" and not theoretical science, confirms as being accurate and true.
Sorry you can't come along with this walk of faith and reality.
Cheers,
Gary
