Some are devout, some atheists are backsliders, some atheists are liberal, some atheists are fanatical, some atheists are fundies, some are Darwinist purists, some are Weekend Atheists, etc.
Not all atheists are as up on Atheist Doctrine as you are, therefore many are ignorant of the teachings of their own religion.

(as when I asked you to define religion and science when you wanted them "reconciled"), let me again ask you to define religion, and explain rationally (sorry for using foreign words) how atheism is a religion.

Atheism is a religion, because the adherents thereof believe there is no God.
And many of the Secular Humanists believe
man is a god, or has god within him and one day, when he has
sufficiently "evolved" will be god.
Atheists have a belief system with doctrines, rituals, they disfellowship opposers, etc.etc.
