Dear Rick and Jan,
I agree with Jan about item #2, about keeping personal lives private.
As far as Item #1 is concerned, "clearly off-topic" requires a JUDGMENT CALL by the moderators, and sense we know this can vary, from moderator to moderator and since some expression is "subtle" and complex, which might not seem connected by some as being relevant, since Jan brought it up, I think he should at least give us a list of what he considers to be at least ten, general 'CLEARLY OFF-TOPIC' items.
Preferably, his list should include possibly some items discussed here at H20 before which were clearly "off topic".
Frankly, I think this is another dangerous area of pseudo-censorship.
But if this IS to come about, I'd like it to be not so casual. Remember I was once told that discussion of "Persepolis" was off-topic by opposers....which is a total joke. You can find the word "Persepolis" in the WTS literature, which I think qualifies the topic.
So how about it Jan, why not give us some examples of what we all should understand to be "clearly off-topic" in your mind.
And in that vein, therefore, let's have an OFFICIAL CLEARLY OFF TOPIC LIST for the monitors to go by so they are not burdened with having to make that literary choice.
Further, since I trust Jan implicity, I think he should come up with the preliminary BLACK LIST.
So, how aobut it Jan, You top 20 "clearly off-topic" subjects that should be banned from H20 discussion board? You know, just to give us an idea of what you're talking about.
Thanks,
Gary
