I'm glad that things have gone well for you, it is certainly possible to live a full and pleasant life without going to collage.
I do think that your comment on "theocratic laziness" deserves further comment. It is true that one can say that no elder prevented anyone from going to college, just the same as one can say that no elder prevented anyone from taking blood. However, one can not say that no elder used his influence to discourage you from going to college. The views on college were quite clear, and often stressed at circuit and district assemblies. If you had decided to go to college, you would have been counseled, and possibly you would have lost some privileges.
You were trying to be a good JW, don't blame yourself for being misled about the value of an education.
